Black & White Brownies
Description
A show-stopping brownie bar — a rich fudge brownie base studded with pecans, chocolate chips, and white vanilla chips, topped immediately from the oven with more white vanilla chips that melt into a layer, then finished with a thin, glossy chocolate fudge glaze and pecan halves arranged on top.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease the bottom only of a 13×9-inch pan.

In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, water, oil, and eggs. Beat 50 strokes with a spoon.

Add ½ cup pecans, chocolate chips, and 1 cup white vanilla chips. Mix well.

Spread in pan. Bake 28–34 minutes until center is set.

Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle remaining 1 cup white vanilla chips over the top. Return to oven for 1 minute to soften.

Spread softened white chips evenly over brownies with the back of a spoon. Cool completely.

In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar, cocoa, melted butter, hot water, and vanilla. Beat until smooth. (Mixture will be thin.) Spoon over the white chip layer and spread to cover.

Arrange pecan halves on top. Cool 1½ hours until completely set. Cut into bars.
