Description

A no-mix cherry dessert salad — cherry pie filling, sweetened condensed milk, well-drained crushed pineapple, mini marshmallows, and chopped pecans folded together, then finished with Cool Whip. The key is draining every drop of juice from the pineapple so the salad holds its shape. Cold, sweet, and impossible to stop eating.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Drain crushed pineapple completely using a fine mesh strainer, pressing with a spatula to remove all juice.
  2. In a large bowl, combine condensed milk, drained pineapple, marshmallows, and pecans. Mix well.
  3. Gently fold in cherry pie filling — fold rather than stir to keep cherries mostly whole.
  4. Fold in Cool Whip until just combined.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Note

Drain the pineapple completely — press through a fine mesh strainer with a spatula to remove every drop of juice. Excess moisture causes separation and a watery salad.
