Description

A spectacular four-layer dessert — a fudgy brownie base topped with pecans, marshmallows, and chocolate chips, then finished with a cooked chocolate custard and a silky ganache on top. Assembled in a springform pan and refrigerated until set. Dense, rich, and absolutely worthy of the name.

Ingredients

First Layer — Brownie Base

Second Layer

Third Layer — Chocolate Custard

Fourth Layer — Ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line the bottom of a 10-inch springform pan with parchment paper. Grease and flour paper and sides.
  2. Stir together all first layer ingredients until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into pan. Bake 20–25 minutes on the middle rack.
  3. Remove from oven and immediately spread marshmallows, pecans, and mini chocolate chips (second layer) over the hot cake. Place on a wire rack to cool.
  4. For the custard: mix 6 Tbsp cornstarch with 6 Tbsp cream into a paste. Heat remaining cream to a simmer. Stir in cornstarch paste, sugar, chocolate chips, and vanilla. Cook, stirring constantly, about 8 minutes until thick and creamy.
  5. Pour hot custard over the cooled second layer. Refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.
  6. For the ganache: heat cream to a simmer. Remove from heat and add chocolate pieces. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  7. Pour ganache over the chilled custard layer. Refrigerate until completely set, at least 1 more hour.
  8. Run a knife around the edge and remove springform ring before slicing.

Note

Allow each layer to cool or set before adding the next — rushing will cause the layers to blur together.
