Description

Cooked carrots layered in a buttered casserole with croutons, sharp cheddar, beaten eggs, light cream, melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and salt — baked uncovered at 400°F for 20 minutes. The name is earned. A vegetable side dish that people ask the recipe for.

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Butter a 1½-quart casserole dish.
  2. Place cooked, drained carrots in the prepared casserole.
  3. Stir in croutons and cheddar cheese.

  5. Pour egg mixture over the carrot mixture.
