Description

Fresh cranberries and chopped apples sprinkled with lemon juice and sugar, topped with a crumbly oat and pecan streusel, and baked low and slow at 325°F for an hour. Served warm with vanilla ice cream. A beautiful fall dessert that works as well at Thanksgiving as it does on any cold evening.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Combine chopped apples and cranberries in a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice and stir.
  3. Top with sugar, spreading evenly.
  4. In a bowl, mix oats, chopped nuts, brown sugar, and melted butter together until dry ingredients are moistened and mixture is crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle oat mixture evenly over the fruit.
  6. Bake at 325°F for 1 hour.
  7. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
