Description

A homemade coffee liqueur made by simmering sugar, water, instant coffee, and salt into a syrup, then combining with vodka and a split vanilla bean. Far cheaper than store-bought and surprisingly easy to make

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place sugar, water, instant coffee, and salt in a deep pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
  5. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise using a sharp knife.
  6. Add the vodka and opened vanilla bean to the cooled coffee mixture.
  7. Pour into a bottle and seal. Store in a cool, dark place or the refrigerator.

Note
