Description
A homemade coffee liqueur made by simmering sugar, water, instant coffee, and salt into a syrup, then combining with vodka and a split vanilla bean. Far cheaper than store-bought and surprisingly easy to make
Ingredients
Instructions

Place sugar, water, instant coffee, and salt in a deep pot.

Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves completely.

Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Split the vanilla bean lengthwise using a sharp knife.

Add the vodka and opened vanilla bean to the cooled coffee mixture.

Pour into a bottle and seal. Store in a cool, dark place or the refrigerator.

Note
The flavor improves significantly after 1–2 weeks of aging. Leave the vanilla bean in the bottle.
