Broccoli-Onion Casserole
Description
Frozen broccoli folded into a rich cream cheese and cheddar sauce made from sautéed onions, butter, flour, and milk, poured into a buttered casserole dish and topped with breadcrumbs browned in butter. Baked at 350°F for 30 minutes. A satisfying vegetable casserole that makes broccoli worth looking forward to.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cook broccoli according to package directions. Drain well.

Sauté onions in 2 Tbsp. butter. Add flour, salt, and pepper. Stir. Add milk and cook, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens.

Blend in cream cheese and cheddar cheese until smooth.

Add cooked broccoli to the cheese sauce and stir to combine.

Pour into a buttered casserole dish.

Melt remaining 2 Tbsp. butter in a skillet. Brown bread crumbs in butter.

Sprinkle browned breadcrumbs over the broccoli mixture.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
